My First Tattoo

YES! I finally got my tattoo. After a week of pondering and a week of mishaps... i finally got it.

I woke up yesterday telling myself, it's now or never. I have already told a couple of my friends that I was going to get it, so I cant back out. They actually wanted to watch. So at about 12:30 in the afternoon. I headed to the tattoo parlor. Actually we ate lunch first, becuase I thought if I didnt eat, I would pass out.

We got to the parlor and they told me that I needed to wait. So for about an hour, I waited, scared and nervous. People have been telling me mixed messages about how it hurts and how it doesn't. I can take pain easily and I heal really fast, so I thought it wont be too bad. But nervousness wouldn't leave my mind. I know it's normal to be scared but this is far from anything I would do.

As I sat there, getting my left arm cleaned, there was a little voice in my head asking "Are you sure, are you sure?" I was still sitting there, so I thought I was actually going to go ahead with it. So I did.

The first time my skin and the needle had contact, it startled me. It was the fact that, 1. it wasn't as bad as I thought & 2. It actually tickled. See I have four characters getting inked on my left arm, the first three characters felt like someone was just scratching me with a pen and it kind of tickled. The last character hurt! It was bearable, but I could feel the last one. I felt the needle going through. My friends were asking me if I was okay becuase I was sweating like a pig roasting in fire.

The tattoo artist finished my tattoo in less than half an hour. Thank GOD!!!! It was an experience I would never forget and thanks to my friends, they helped me get through it. I like how it turned out and so does a lot of people.

It kanji idiom for "AIM HIGH AND FORWARD" It's a saying I live by so I thought I would get it done. I am also part Japanese, somewhere up in my family tree. So it was perfect.

Let me know what you think, and if you have a tattoo, let me know about your experience. If you're thinking of getting ink, it's not as bad as you think it would be. Trust me!
